4-H Scholarships

Recognizing Excellence

Arkansas 4-H recognizes excellence and rewards the efforts of its members as they pursue post high school education. We want our members to become self-directing, productive and contributing members to society. 

Apply Online for 4-H Scholarships

Each year, online applications are accepted until February 1st of the 4-H member's senior year of high school. Only one application should be submitted per 4-H member including transcripts and letters of recommendation. The member must check the boxes next to all the scholarships for which they are applying on the first page of the application form. Please read the descriptions below to see if you qualify to apply. Once the 4-H member is accepted into college and has proof of enrollment they will fill out the Scholarship Claim Form below and send to the state 4-H Office.

General Scholarships

Click to expand the section on each scholarship awarded by Arkansas 4-H, each one has specific eligibility requirements. If you have questions about applying for scholarships, please view the Arkansas 4-H Guide to Scholarships at the bottom of the page. All scholarships are contingent upon funding each year.

Two $8,000 scholarships ($2,000 per year renewable for a maximum of three years). Present or former 4-H member who will be enrolled in an accredited Family and Consumer Sciences program. Preference given to those enrolled at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. ($8,000)

One $6,000 scholarship ($2,000 per year renewable for a maximum of three years) - Present or former 4-H'er from Madison (first priority) or Washington County who will be enrolled in a two- or four-year college or university in the University of Arkansas system. ($6,000)

One $5,000 scholarship will be awarded to graduating seniors from Pulaski and Jefferson counties who have shown exemplary leadership and community service throughout their 4-H careers. Preference given to students pursuing a degree of study at a University of Arkansas System school. 

Present or former 4-H'er who will be enrolled at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. First priority given to members from Scott and Yell counties, second priority to members from Pulaski, Lonoke, Miller and Phillips counties. Third priority given to members from any county in west-central Arkansas. ($4,000)

Scholarship awarded based on both need and merit to a 4-H member with a determined work-ethic and positive attitude but who may have been affected by an unforeseen trial or challenge beyond their control. ($3,500)

Present or former 4-H'er who is a graduating high school senior or will be enrolled in an institution of higher learning in the Fall of the current year and has done outstanding achievement work. ($2,000)

Must be a teen star and has displayed outstanding leadership. ($2,000)

Four scholarships awarded to 4-H'ers who currently exhibit livestock in the AR State Fair & Livestock Show. ($625)

4-H'er who will be enrolled in an institution of higher education in the fall of the current year and who has completed outstanding 4-H work. ($2,000)

4-H'er who has done outstanding 4-H work. ($1,000)

4-H'er in an Arkansas college concentrating on a career in forage, grass, or cattle industry. ($2000)

4-H’er enrolled in a two or four year institution of higher education who have excelled in 4-H leadership, 4-H community service or the mentoring of other 4-H members. First priority given to members from Grant, Hot Spring, or Miller Counties. Second priority given to members in the Ouachita District. Applicants are required to submit a 500 word essay with their achievements, future goals, and the impact 4-H has had on their life. ($2,000)

4-H member from Washington County who will be enrolled at the U of A - Fayetteville ($1,000)

Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to present 4-H members who will enroll in an agriculture related course of study. The member must reside in one of Farm Credit's 41 chartered counties.

$2,000 –  Preference given to active 4-H members who are enrolling in an accredited university, college, or trade program for the fall semester. Must have been a volunteer counselor at a 4-H camp that was held at the C. A. Vines 4-H Center.

One $3,000 scholarship is awarded to the Arkansas 4-H Governor’s Award recipient and each of the remaining finalists receive a $1,000 scholarship (pending funding). This award is available only to current or former state 4-H record book winners. This scholarship is seperate from the other competitive state scholarships and winners can be considered for other scholarship awards. 

One $2,000 is awarded to a present or former 4-H'er who plans to pursue careers in STEM, Natural Resources, or Archeology.

Four $1,000 scholarships are awarded to current 4-H members planning to enroll in a University of Arkansas institution of higher learning in an agriculture related field. Must have exhibited livestock at the Arkansas State Fair and Livestock Show within the past year.

Two $1,000 scholarships are awarded to current 4-H members planning to enroll in the College of Forestry, Agriculture, and Natural Resources at the University of Monticello. Must have been involved in forestry and/or wildlife 4-H project areas and plan to pursue a career in natural resources.

Present or former 4-H'er who will be enrolled in agriculture or human environmental sciences at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville in the Fall of the current year. ($1,000)

One $2,000 scholarship is awarded to a present or former 4-H'er who plans to pursue careers in Consumer Sciences or Agriculture or related field. Preference given to Pulaski County residents. 

One $2,000 scholarship is awarded to a 4-H'er graduating in current year who has exhibited at the Arkansas State Fair and who will be pursuing a degree in Animal Science or closely related field.
