AR 4-H Camps
Ages 14 - 19
The following dates are tenative.
The Arkansas 4-H State Camping Program offers camping and training opportunities for youth 5-19
years old and adults. We offer both day camp and overnight camping, at the
C. A. Vines Arkansas 4-H Center, 10 miles west of Little Rock. We have canoeing, swimming, archery, fishing, rock
climbing, high ropes challenge course, off-site adventure camping, and more!
We offer camps with a wide range of learning opportunities; from wilderness adventure
to crafts, our 4-H camping program has it all!
Parents/Volunteers are welcome to attend most of our camps (unless noted as youth
only). Parents/Volunteers wanting to attend camp will need to complete the volunteer
leader screening process. This usually takes several weeks to be processed so please
start the process early. Contact your county agent on how to begin.
Registration typically opens approximately 1 month before the registration deadline.
All camps are open to 4-H Members. Some camps are also open to NON Members.

This camp is just for TEENS. It is an opportunity to be a camper again. Campers
have the opportunity to develop new and build on old relationships with youth from
across the state while learning those adulting skills young adults need.
Dates: September 24-26, 2021
Ages: 14-19 and adult volunteers

Open to: 4-H Members
Campers falling into the Adventure & Challenge Group during State Camp will gain leadership
skills by participating in a vareity of challenging activities. Campers will have
the opportunity to participate in activities such as rock climbing and high ropes
coures.
Dates: Session I - July 7-9
Session II - July 10-12
Ages: 13-15

Open to: 4-H Members & Non Members
There will be no macaroni art found at this camp. Become an artisan in many different
areas. You will develop skills that can be used in projects throughout your life.
Develop new hobbies and interests. Create art that can be expanded into your own
business. Go home with finished products that can be entered into local, district,
and state fairs. Campers at past camps have learned how to decorate cookies, turn
wooden pens on a lathe, create custom signs with a router, make soap, sew pillows,
and much more.
Dates: July 20-22

Love the great outdoors but haven't had to opportunity to explore some of the Natural
State's beauty? The High Adventure program will provide that opportunity. Explore
what our state has to offer - canoeing, rock climbing, and more all while developing
leadership skills. Required training sessions are held at the AR 4-H Center. The
summer trip will travel to other locations in AR.
Required Training Dates:
Parent/Camper Rally - April 30am (campers will attend with parent guardian)
Shakedown Training - April 30pm-May 1
Trip Dates: June 19-25
Ages: 13-19 & adult volunteers

Open to: 4-H Members
These training sessions provide an opportunity to explore from your horse. Learn
the skills needed to camp in the wilderness with your horse. The horse packing training
sessions are open to all ages (must provide own horse). Youth under 13 must attend
with a registered adult. Youth 13 and older must be able to care for and saddle their
horse on their own. These sessions are primarily designed as training sessions for
the High Adventure Horsepacking program. Those interested in participating in the
2023 out of state trip must attend Session IV along with 2 other sessions. Youth
must be at least 13 by January 1, 2023 in order to participate in the out of state
trip. Training sessions are held at varying locations. Participants of previous
out of state horsepacking trips are only required to attend Session IV, but are welcome
to register for/attend any of the others as well.

Session IV - November 4-6
